I've been working on my animated short film 'The doctor' (working title) and I'm looking at all sorts of things to get inspiration. Something I keep coming back to is Simon Tofield's 'Simons Cat'. If you haven't seen any of his animations have a look on youtube. I just love them. The way he brings the character of the cat alive is spot on.

Frame by Frame
I've just downloaded FramebyFrame from the Apple website. It seems like a really simple and effective program to use for starting off in animation. I'm hoping to use it for a one day animation workshop I am running.
The idea is for students to be able to experiment with different animation techniques using a digital video camera on a tripod creating a rostrum camera and importing the images frame by frame using this software.

Trees!
This is a reworking of one of the illustrations I produced for Pegasaurus publishing. It's still a work in progress.
I like trees. I'm going to draw more trees.

Depict Filmmaking competition
You may have noticed I have been concentrating my efforts a lot more on drawing lately. Rest assured I am still working on video projects. I am currently working on a 90 second animation for the Depict short film competition in Bristol.
You can see details of the competition here.
