I've finished this 90 second animated film just in time for the Depict Film Festival. This is a shortened version of the film I had been working on a few years ago for my masters degree. I decided to try and split it up into 4 different films. So possibly more to come.

Here is another film. It's the fourth week and we've moved to Marchants Hill PGL camp near Guildford so closer to home but it's getting harder work- only 2 weeks to go! Woohoo!

I don't know who El fonso is really - I didn't come up with that or the essay at the beginning!

My trees illustration is being used on 'The Eco Guide to Sussex' cover. good news for my first foray into illustration. The book is being launched on 10th August. Published by Pegasaurus Publishing

After the launch the book will be available in the following shops;

I'm working at 2 PGL camps again this summer for 6 weeks. 3 Weeks at Boreatton Park Near Shrewsbury in Shropshire and then 3 weeks at Marchants Hill near Guildford in Surrey.

I'm teaching the fimmaking workshops for a company called RollingSound which means making a short film with a group of 10- 13 years olds or 13-16 year olds each week.

It's good fun but means I will be away for quite a while and a bit stuck out in the sticks. Here's a trailor for the type of films we will be making: Film Trailer

Watercolour painting

I've been experimenting with watercolour instead of colouring in my pictures on the computer. I'm hoping to send some images off to card companies in the future.

I wish Id left the background blank for this one though- or not so bold!

Student Bedroom

This is an illustration I have produced for a book about Oxford and Cambridge that is to be published. The book is called Tales from two cities and is essentially a book of memories from the two universities. I was asked to produce an illustration of a 'Garret- like' bedroom.

Simon's Cat

I've been working on my animated short film 'The doctor' (working title) and I'm looking at all sorts of things to get inspiration. Something I keep coming back to is Simon Tofield's 'Simons Cat'. If you haven't seen any of his animations have a look on youtube. I just love them. The way he brings the character of the cat alive is spot on.

Frame by Frame

I've just downloaded FramebyFrame from the Apple website. It seems like a really simple and effective program to use for starting off in animation. I'm hoping to use it for a one day animation workshop I am running.

The idea is for students to be able to experiment with different animation techniques using a digital video camera on a tripod creating a rostrum camera and importing the images frame by frame using this software.

I thought I should post up some of the projects I have been working on over the last few months.

This is a video I produced for State-Of-Play, a qualitative research company. It was produced to demonstrate their online research tool 'The Engine Room' and made using Adobe After Effects.
